About Abeach

Abeach started in 2007 as an informal collaboration between three volleyball clubs from Arnhem. Since the merger into one large club, Aetos, in 2018, we have become part of this wonderful volleyball association.

As the beach committee within the club, we want to put beach volleyball firmly on the map in the Arnhem region. From April through September, we also offer open play for everyone on the courts at Valkenhuizen and ESA. We also organise training sessions, tournaments, and NBC.

The beach committee gets refreshed every year, full of energy for the new season, and currently consists of: Marlinde, Wendy, Petra, Rob, Daan, Paul, Martijn, Stef, and Henk Jan. Next year as well, we’ll gladly and enthusiastically organise a great new beach season for everyone who wants to play volleyball in the sand!

We can really use your help at our busy Valkenhuizen location. We’re looking for “beach hosts” to keep open play running smoothly. We ask you to arrive a bit earlier to open the courts and to close them afterwards. You’ll be responsible, for example, for lending out equipment, and you’ll help create a great atmosphere and good vibes. Of course, you’ll also have the opportunity to play yourself. Abeach is part of volleyball club Aetos from Arnhem and organises opportunities every year from April through September to play beach volleyball at every level. Sportpark Valkenhuizen is our home base with 8 beach courts.

Each year we offer training sessions at various levels, several tournaments, and of course the option to play with and against each other through “open play.” Our goal is to make beach volleyball accessible for everyone in the region — young and old, beginners and advanced players alike. Membership of Aetos is not required to take part in the activities.
